Nicholas A. Charles

Nick joined McLeod Law Group in April 2023. Prior to joining MLG, Nick was a partner at one of the largest law firms in South Carolina, where he spent nearly seven years defending large companies as an appellate lawyer and commercial litigator. He previously served as a judicial law clerk for Justice John C. Few on the South Carolina Supreme Court and South Carolina Court of Appeals. Nick now uses the skills and experience he developed on the defense side of the bar to serve injured individuals and families.

Nick was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, before attending Miami University and the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude in 2014 and was a member of the Order of the Coif and Order of Wig and Robe. During law school, Nick was an articles editor for the South Carolina Law Review. Nick was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2014, the Georgia Bar in 2016, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina in 2016, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in 2017, and the Georgia Court of Appeals in 2019.

Nick is a member of the American Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division, and the Richland County Bar Association. He was named by his peers to the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America 2023 list for commercial litigation.

Nick lives in Columbia with his wife, Sarah, who is an attorney at another local law firm.
